Fifty years ago, this day on 9th November 1969, KMC renamed McLeod Road. The original McLeod Road was named after John McLeod who was the Deputy Collector of Customs. It changed to become Ismail Ibrahim (I. I.) Chundrigar Road after Mr. Chundrigar who was the prime minister of Pakistan in 1957. Once upon a time the road and streets around were regularly washed with water. McLeod Road gained fame as the ‘Wall Street of Pakistan’.
